Iridium Ultra - Digital Imaging
The Iridium Ultra Digital Imaging system uses the microscope’s external beam control interface to acquire images. Digital images acquired by Iridium Ultra have many advantages over images acquired locally on the microscope: Image resolutions from 64x64 to 4096x4096 can be acquired. Images can be shared easily with other applications, such as word processors, for report generation. Images can be exported to standard file formats (BMP, TIFF, JPEG, and many more). Complete Image Processing is provided, including convolution filters, histogram equalization, etc. Feature and Particle Analysis are provided and integrated with Iridium Ultra.
The Digital Imaging is built inside the EDS electronics (Model 550i). In one compact system, our Digital Imaging interacts with our EDS software allowing for "active" beam control. X-ray Mapping, Spot Mode and specific beam control functions are all greatly enhanced by having the two tied together. 4096x4096 pixel, 12-bit imaging brings even the oldest SEM into the world's latest PC platform technology.
